April  9, 2020

Join a public webinar today at 4 p.m. to ask questions of City staff about the development process; This Cville360 broadcast is available live and on-demand on the City’s streaming channels and Comcast Ch. 10.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville is committed to servicing our residents and customers during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While City Hall is closed and only essential employees are at the office, our key staff remain available, many from their home offices via telephone and email, to ensure business continues to the greatest degree possible.

While the Governor’s Stay-at-Home order remains in effect, the City will continue to follow the social distancing recommendations of the Virginia Department of Health so that we can protect our staff and our clients.

A focus on Neighborhood Development

The City has received numerous questions about the development process, building permits and inspections. These topics will be the focus of today’s broadcast of Cville360 at 4 p.m. A panel of five City employees will share information and respond to the community’s questions about our adjusted business practices during the pandemic.

The majority of the daily work of Neighborhood Development Services is continuing on schedule. Numerous meetings are being held virtually and we are leveraging the City’s technology infrastructure in innovative ways to help our clients be successful with their business needs.

The Neighborhood Development Services team has also published a Frequently Asked Questions document outlining the process for our continued review of development applications and permit requests. This document contains all the contact information needed to most efficiently engage our staff.
