City of Charlottesville Facilities to Open at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 28
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville will open City Hall and all City facilities at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 28, 2026 to allow additional time for safe travel and facility preparation following recent winter weather conditions.
City crews continue to monitor conditions and address snow and ice impacts across roadways, sidewalks, and public facilities. Residents and employees are encouraged to use caution when traveling, allow extra time for commutes, and remain alert for icy patches, particularly on sidewalks, parking lots, and less-traveled areas.
The City reminds residents that safety remains the top priority. Those who can delay travel or work remotely are encouraged to do so when possible. Community members are also asked to check in on neighbors who may need assistance and to continue clearing sidewalks adjacent to their properties when it is safe to do so.
Updates will be shared through the City’s website and official communication channels as conditions evolve.
