Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Joe Platania Welcomes New Assistant

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office welcomes its newest Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Amanda Blankenship. Originally from Buckingham Virginia, Ms. Blankenship obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Radford University and her Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law. She served for two years as a Magistrate in Virginia before moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she worked as an attorney for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. 

“Amanda comes to the office with significant courtroom and trial experience and will be an asset to not only the office but the community,” stated Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania. Ms. Blankenship is excited to be back in her home state of Virginia and looks forward to serving the citizens of Charlottesville in her new role with the Commonwealth's Attorney’s Office.
