Ring in the Year of the Horse with Charlottesville Parks & Recreation!
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Join Charlottesville Parks & Recreation for Year of the Fire Horse: Celebrate the Lunar New Year, a vibrant daytime festival that honors the cultural and New Year traditions of Asian communities in Charlottesville.
When & Where:
- Saturday, March 7 | 2:00 - 4:30 PM
- Carver Recreation Center
This festive celebration will feature traditional performances, hands-on crafts, and delicious food for the whole family.
Highlights include:
- Traditional Performances – Enjoy the sights and sounds of Lunar New Year with music and dance by renowned performers.
- Hands-On Crafts – Decorate paper fans, make a simple drum, and enjoy festive face painting.
- Origami Demonstration – Learn the art of paper folding with UVA student Hans Yang.
- Mulan Meet & Greet – Meet the legendary heroine and snap a photo to remember the day!
Let’s welcome the New Year together with wishes for health, happiness, good luck, and prosperity!
