In the Jordan Park-Rivanna Trail Access Forest Restoration Project, the invasive plants and mature trees were cleared with a forest mulcher. Jordan Park (Rivanna Trail Access) has flat terrain and trail use is infrequent, with trail entrances easy to close for safety concerns; therefore forestry mulcher machines were a reasonable approach. In the space cleared, 500 new tree seedlings were planted. Ongoing maintenance will be necessary for some years to ensure continued suppression of invasive species.
