Roadway Maintenance Scheduled for Water Street – November 24–26
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Public Works Department will conduct roadway maintenance on Water Street beginning Monday, November 24 through Wednesday, November 26, 2025. This work is part of the City’s ongoing pavement preservation and infrastructure improvement program.
Crews will perform milling, patching, and surface treatment along sections of Water Street between 2nd Street SE and 5th Street SW. Maintenance activities are scheduled daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Traffic & Parking Impacts
- Lane closures and alternating one-way traffic will be in effect during work hours.
- On-street parking along designated sections of Water Street will be temporarily restricted. Signs will be posted 24 hours in advance.
- Drivers should expect minor delays and are encouraged to use nearby routes such as Market Street and Garrett Street.
Pedestrian Access
Sidewalks will remain open, though some areas may be briefly rerouted for safety. Pedestrians are asked to follow all posted signage and instructions from work crews.
Transit Routes
All Transit (CAT) routes will be maintained during the duration of this work.
