Office of Sustainability Seeks Input on Electric Vehicle Charging Needs
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Electric Vehicle (EV) ownership has become increasingly common in Charlottesville, representing one out of six new vehicles registered in the City. In order to support the continued growth in EVs, Charlottesville is working to ensure the availability of chargers to meet the needs of both residents and visitors. To help understand community charging needs, residents and business owners are encouraged to complete a brief survey to indicate their interest in EVs and preferred charging locations.
The survey is available on our website until April 28. Results from the survey will be incorporated into Charlottesville’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan. This Plan is being conducted by the City’s Office of Sustainability in coordination with the Cadmus Group and will serve as a guide to meeting the future charging needs of residents, businesses, and visitors to the Charlottesville area.
For more information on the benefits of EVs, available incentives, and to locate existing charging stations, please visit our climate action and sustainability dashboard.
