Alexander Turner Jr. Sentenced to 19 Years
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Today, in Charlottesville Circuit Court, Judge Claude V. Worrell sentenced Alexander Turner Jr. to 19 years in prison for eluding police, possession of firearm ammunition by a previously convicted felon, leaving the scene of an accident and a probation violation from a previous attempted robbery. A portion of the 19-year sentence was suspended and Mr. Turner was returned to supervised probation for a term of two years and placed on 10 years of good behavior.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania reiterated that “the Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Charlottesville Police Department, will continue to prioritize the prosecution of violent offenders.” This case was prosecuted by Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nina-Alice Antony.
