Tajuan Allen Pleads Guilty
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Today in Albemarle County Circuit Court, Tajuan Rahmeen Allen pled guilty to the November 5, 2020 murder of Dreshawn McDonald on South First Street in the City of Charlottesville. He also pled guilty to the December 8, 2023 malicious wounding of Brian Draper, an incident that occurred at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM and faces over 77 years in prison.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania stated that Allen fled the Commonwealth after the homicide and was apprehended in Pennsylvania on November 29, 2020. He was extradited back to Charlottesville on October 3, 2023 and will remain in custody at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail until his sentencing.
