City of Charlottesville to Adopt FY25 Budget on April 15th
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville is now set to adopt the FY25 budget on Monday, April 15th due to discussions at the City Council meeting this week regarding a personal property tax rate increase. The adoption date and public hearing will be moved from Tuesday, April 9th to Monday, April 15th to fall within the advertisement publication requirements.
The budget discussion at the City Council meeting this week was regarding tax increases and specifically personal property tax increases, which hasn’t been proposed previously. Public notice will go out on Saturday, April 6th in the Daily Progress.
We encourage the community to join the Budget Work Session on Thursday, April 4th at City Space at 6:00 pm. There will be opportunity for public comment at the end of the session. There will also be a public hearing prior to budget adoption at the City Council meeting on Monday, April 15th.
