2023 Sister City Grants Program $24K Funding Available – Application Deadline Jan 13
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Sister Cities Commission (CSCC) welcomes the new year with a reminder to everyone about our 2023 Sister Cities Grants Program! Funding awards of up to $4,000 per project are available – to Charlottesville nonprofits, arts organizations, schools, businesses, and individuals. Apply now to seek support for ideas that serve the mission of the CSCC.
From a total budget of $24,000, grants are available for initiatives that benefit the Charlottesville community as well as our Sister City communities in Besançon, France; Poggio a Caiano, Italy; Winneba, Ghana; and Huehuetenango, Guatemala (“Friendship City” to Charlottesville, Sister City status pending).
Think widely and broadly - past grants have supported initiatives in the areas of history, film, music, municipal services, digital communications and connectivity, education, literary and visual arts, sports, photography, and more!
Whether you’re 8 or 80, we welcome your application (under age 18 requires parent signature), as long as your project meets the mission of the Charlottesville Sister Cities Commission (CSCC): to promote understanding and foster relationships between citizens and organizations in the Charlottesville area and our Sister Cities through cultural, economic, educational, and humanitarian activities.
The 2023 Grants Application deadline is January 13, 2023. Applications must be received by this date to receive consideration, and may be submitted by individuals or groups. Sister Cities Commissioners and sub-committee members may not apply. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. Grant recipients will be notified of the Commission’s award decision within 45 days of the application deadline date; funds are available as reimbursements.
