Contactless payments for parking are now an option at the Market Street and Water Street Garages
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville is pleased to announce that parkers may now use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking at the Water Street and Market Street Garages.
The ParkMobile app is the #1 parking app in the U.S., with over 23 million users, and is available for both iPhone and Android devices. ParkMobile can also be accessed on a mobile web browser for those who do not want to download an app. To pay for daily parking using the mobile or web app at these new facilities, a user enters the zone number posted on signs at the entrance to the garages, scans the ticket they received upon entering the garage, and then scans the ticket at the exit lane equipment to leave. Customers also now have the ability to make a parking reservation at these garages. Visitors to downtown may now search for parking in the ParkMobile app or website and select a garage. After booking, users can enter the garage with a mobile pass in the ParkMobile app or with a ParkMobile printed entrance ticket.
The launch of these new locations expands ParkMobile’s footprint in Virginia, where the app is already available in many cities in the State. ParkMobile has over 1.3 million users of the app in Virginia and can be used to pay for parking in Roanoke, Richmond, Woodbridge, Leesburg, Alexandria, Arlington, and Winchester.

Contactless payments through ParkMobile are already available on the City’s West 2nd St Lot and at some UVA parking facilities as well as a few privately owned lots in Charlottesville. See the Parkmobile app for all available locations.
In addition, monthly parking is available on a first come first served basis at the Water Street Parking Garage. The current rate is $135 per month for unlimited parking 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Ample hourly parking is available throughout the day every day at both the Garages.
