Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Accepting Applications for Community Academy

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Charlottesville Commonwealth Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its first-ever community academy. Join Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania for a no cost seven-week program designed to provide community members with an inside look at their local criminal justice system and the daily operations of the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. This program will track a hypothetical criminal case from investigation to sentencing. Participants will explore alternatives to incarceration, examine the needs of harmed individuals and finish the program with a tour of the local jail.
