Water system work to occur at night along Rugby Road between the intersections with Barracks Rd and Rugby Rd/ Preston Ave for the next four weeks beginning October 3rd on Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Linco, Inc. will be continuing to work on water infrastructure for the City of Charlottesville’s Department of Utilities along Rugby Road between the intersections with Barracks Road and Rugby Road/ Preston Avenue. The work began on Sunday, 10/3, and is occurring between the hours of 8pm – 5am. The night work hours are necessary due to the high volume of traffic that travels this roadway during daytime hours. Also, while performing the scheduled work, significant concrete underlayment was encountered and the use of a jackhammer will be necessary. The jackhammering will cause excessive noise, but this operation will be limited to the hours of 9pm – 11pm.
