Traffic Advisory: Jefferson Park Avenue and Stadium Road

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Between January 2026 and March 2026, there will be four scheduled road closures/modifications along Jefferson Park Avenue (northbound and southbound) and Stadium Road (northbound and southbound). During each closure, modification, detour signage, and flaggers will be in place to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.

Pedestrians: the current pathways on Stadium Road, Emmet Street, and JPA will remain in place until Q3 2027.

Vehicular Impact:

• January 11-15:
  • Jefferson Park Avenue (northbound)
  • Night closure only (9:00 PM - 5:00 AM)
  • Northbound detour via Valley Road
• January 18-23:
  • Jefferson Park Avenue (southbound)
  • Night closure only (9:00 PM - 5:00 AM)
  • Southbound detour via Stadium Road

Please note: The Verve is a residential development consisting of 1,332 beds across 462 units, with layouts ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments. The project was developed by Subtext, with construction managed by John Moriarty and Associates (JMA). While this is not a UVA project, it is located near UVA Grounds. Due to its proximity, UVA is actively coordinating with the City of Charlottesville and the Verve project team to ensure clear communication and alignment on road and sidewalk detours.
