Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) uses the open market to purchase many of its needed goods and services. Funding for the agency is provided by federal, state, and local assistance. To ensure full and open competition as well as fair and reasonable prices, CAT follows stringent guidelines set forth by the Federal Transit Administration.
