City of Charlottesville Accepting Applications for Garden Plots
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department has opened the annual application period for City-managed Garden Plots. City Residents may apply through January 31. Non-Residents may apply February 1–21.
The Garden Plot program offers the opportunity to rent community garden plots at sites throughout the City for the growing season. The program supports local food production, community connection, and is open to gardeners of all experience levels—from first-time growers to seasoned gardeners.
In addition to opening the application period, the City is inviting members of the public to participate in a brief Garden Plots Public Awareness & Interest Survey. The survey is designed to help the City better understand community awareness of the program, assess interest and demand, and gather feedback that will inform future outreach and program planning.
Survey participation is voluntary, responses will be reviewed in aggregate, and feedback will not affect an individual’s eligibility for a garden plot.
Residents and non-residents are encouraged to complete the survey, whether or not they plan to apply for a garden plot this season.
