The Charlottesville City Market placed #2 in the 12th annual American Farmland Trust Farmers Market Celebration contest

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -
The Charlottesville City Market placed #2 in the 12th annual American Farmland Trust Farmers Market Celebration contest.  The celebration recognizes the leading market in each region of the country and awards cash prizes to the winners of the “People’s Choice” awards for markets with the most endorsements nationwide.

More than 1,250 markets participated in the celebration with the total number of votes up 350% over 2019, demonstrating the critical role farmers markets have continued to play in feeding Americas throughout the COVID-19 crisis.  The Charlottesville City Market will be awarded $500 for placing 2nd.

In 2020, the Charlottesville City Market had to make several operational changes due to COVID-19 and switch from an in-person downtown shopping experience to a pre-order and pick-up model at several locations throughout the year.  The market staff would like to thank the vendors and loyal customers for continuing to make the market a success during these trying times.
