Tree Work on the Downtown Mall Planned for January
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Division will be performing yearly maintenance pruning on the Downtown Mall in January. The time frame for tree work is expected to be five days over a two-week period (to allow for inclement weather), starting at 8:00 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Tree crews will try to complete the work in five consecutive days. Maintenance will include one tree removal, structural pruning and removal of dead branches for all canopy trees along the length of the mall. Tree work will closely resemble operations performed in January 2023.
