Parks and Recreation Takes Part in “Play All Day VA”

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Charlottesville Parks & Recreation will take part in the statewide initiative created by the Virginia Parks and Recreation Society, “Play All Day VA” on Thursday, June 20.This initiative celebrates the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice, and encourages communities to learn about the facilities and programs that their parks and recreation departments have to offer.

This year, Charlottesville Parks and Recreation will be hosting a photo scavenger hunt. Participants can pick up a packet starting at 8 AM on Thursday, June 20 from Carver Recreation Center. Inside their packet will be their mission for the scavenger hunt and a checklist of locations around the City of Charlottesville. Locations they must stop by and take a photo include: Tonsler Recreation Center, Smith Aquatic and Fitness Center, Azalea Park, Washington Park Pool, and Riverview Park. At each location, there will be a QR code which will lead them to a virtual drop box for their photos. To complete the scavenger hunt and claim a prize, participants should return to Carver Recreation Center by 5 PM on Thursday, June 20 (while supplies last).

Carver Recreation Center is located at 233 4th Street NW. For more information, please call 434-970-3572.
