Construction underway on Jordan Park Trail Bridge across Pollocks Branch

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville Parks Department is excited to announce that construction is beginning on a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge across Pollocks Branch at Jordan Park.

The bridge will allow users of the Moores Creek trail to cross the tributary to access the trails west of Jordan Park playground and basketball courts and continue towards 5th Street. Currently the Rivanna Trails Foundation footpath crosses the creek with a rock hop.

Construction begins Wednesday May 29, and is expected to take 2 months to complete. This project is funded by Community Development Block Grant Funding and costs ~$175,000. It is expected to be complete and open for public use by August.
