Charlottesville Parks & Recreation to Host Master Plan Community Engagement Events
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Charlottesville Parks & Recreation will be hosting a series of community engagement events to gather input from residents on their current and future recreational needs that will be part of the Master Plan which is currently in process. The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan is to guide the City of Charlottesville for the next 10 years and provide strategic direction and vision to meet current and emerging public needs, as well as remain the primary steward of the significant natural, cultural, and historic resources.
The Community Engagement Events are located in specific areas of the City to gather feedback from those living closest to those areas, but the events are open to everyone. Each event will feature a fun-filled afternoon with games and activities, music, bounce houses, food, raffles and more. Staff will be onsite to gather feedback and input regarding the Parks & Recreation system which will be included with other community input for the Master Plan.
