Drop-In Activities
Drop-in classes and events are designed so you can drop-in and pay per visit. Choose from a variety of activities available at two locations.

About
Practice basketball and learn skills with your friends. Geared toward teens and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, who are independent and respond safely in large-group supervision. The staff-to-participant ratio is 1:15. If individual attention is needed, please come with an aide. For more information, call 434-970-3269. All ages are welcome!

Adaptive basketball will take place on Wednesdays, September through May from 11:00 to 11:45 am. This is a free class for persons with disabilities.
About
Drop-in to our Open Art Studio to practice a variety of art mediums. We focus on a different form of art each week. Classes are flexible enough to accommodate both beginning and advanced students. Beginning students are welcome, as are more experienced artists. There is no pressure to be perfect - we each go at our own pace. Adult Open Studio is for participants ages 14 and older.
Cost & Times
Adult Open Studio will take place on Thursdays from January 9 through May from 6:00 to 6:45 pm. The drop-in price is $7.00 for residents and $9.00 for non-residents, per visit.
About
This open studio uses projects based on monthly themes and inspired by the interests of the children. Children and caregivers can move through the studio space, visiting project stations with varied themes. This class is designed to encourage students to learn through play and sensory experience as they create small and large works, exercising fine and gross motor skills. Parent/caregiver supervision is required. Art Adventures is for children ages 1 to 6.
Cost & Times
Art Adventures will take place from April through May from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Mondays and Thursdays. Register for the full session, which includes the Parent-and-Me Playgroup. The cost is $63.00 for residents and $82.00 for non-residents or drop-in for $7.00 per visit.

Join us in the art room for an open art studio. Participants can follow their own path or follow along with an instructor. Parent/caregiver supervision is required for children 4 and under. Open Art Studio is for children ages 1 to 12.
Cost & Times
Open Art Studio is $7.00 per visit and will take place on Wednesdays from April to May from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and Fridays, April to May from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm or 2:30 to 4:30 pm.

Ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult for open basketball.
Times

Have fun and make new friends during our indoor playtime in the gym. Toys, mats and props will be available for children to explore freely and play with others. Active parental supervision is required. Parent-and-Me Playgroup is for children ages 0 to 5.

Parent-and-Me Playgroup takes place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Friday from 10:00 am to noon, January to May. The drop-in rate is $3.00 per child, per visit, and parents are free.

Have fun and burn some energy with roller skating. Ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

These weekly events are free and take place on Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.
About
This drop-in class is perfect for those who want to try gymnastics without committing to a weekly class. Class time is supervised by a gymnastics instructor who can aid your little one in skill development or just keep them safe while they burn off some energy. Drop-in at your convenience from week to week, or sign up for the whole session to secure your spot. Active caregiver supervision is required for children 3 and under. Tumble Time is for children ages 1 to 5.
Cost & Times
Tumble Time will take place from March to May on Wednesdays from noon to 1:15 pm. Residents can register for the full session for $45.00 and non-residents may register for $59.00 The drop-in rate is $6.00 per child, per visit, and parents are free.

We offer open gym times for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball throughout the week. Please pick up a monthly calendar from the Key Recreation Center which details the programs in the gymnasium. Ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us for a workout and a variety of strength and cardio exercises. Participants should come dressed in workout clothes and sneakers and bring a water bottle. Call 434-970-3269 for a specific start date or to sign up. Adaptive fitness is for all ages!

Adaptive fitness will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 11:00 am and is free to attend.
About
The Teen Center is a supervised indoor space with a wide variety of table- and video-games (many of which focus on active movement) as well as televisions and internet access. Itʼs a safe and fun place to play and socialize close to home. Teen Center is for ages 11 to 17.
Cost & Times
The Teen Center is provided as a free community resource and is open Monday through Friday - 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday and Sundays - 1:00 to 6:00 pm
