Traffic Advisory:  Water Main Construction – Locust Avenue Update

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Ongoing water main construction within Locust Avenue is progressing northward resulting in a shift of the daily road closure. The relocated closure will be located between Poplar and Hazel Streets between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM daily beginning August 4 (weather permitting).

Expect a temporary road closure and detours to be in place during these times. Pedestrian access will be maintained but will alternate sides of the street based on physical location of work. Motorists are advised to expect delays and avoid the area if possible. Please follow posted detours, respect on-site traffic control personnel, and exercise all due caution while in the vicinity. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we facilitate the construction of this important infrastructure.
