Charlottesville Police Chief Michael Kochis Named Rotary Citizen of the Year
Charlottesville, VA — The Charlottesville Police Department is proud to announce that Chief Michael Kochis has been named the Charlottesville Area Rotary Citizen of the Year, an honor recognizing his exceptional dedication to community service and leadership in law enforcement.
Chief Kochis has made a lasting impact on the City of Charlottesville through his unwavering commitment to community policing. Since assuming the role of Chief, he has emphasized trust-building, transparency, and collaboration between officers and residents—fundamental values that continue to shape the department’s mission.
