Community Phone Scam Alert
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville is aware of a phone scam in the community, where someone is impersonating a Charlottesville Sheriff's Office official, claiming the victim owes money for missing a court date or jury duty. Please note law enforcement will NEVER call demanding for money. If you receive a call of this nature, hang up immediately and report it to the Sheriff's Office at 434-970-3777.
