City Manager Community Budget Forum This Thursday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City Manager will hold his Community Budget Forum this Thursday, December 12th from 6 – 8:00 pm at Carver Recreation Center (233 4th St NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903). This will be an interactive forum. Attendees will be given fake money at the door to spend on any of the ten Strategic Outcome Area stations (nine plus City Council’s overall commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) of their choice. Stations will be managed by city staff subject matter experts on each of the topics. Attendees may ask questions and provide feedback at each of the stations. At the end of the forum, the fake money will be totaled, and the City Manager will discuss the results with attendees which will provide a reflection of how attendees think the budget should be structured.
The City Manager will kick off the event with an introduction to the budget for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) followed by a brief presentation. Along with providing feedback to staff in person, attendees will also have the opportunity to provide written comments, scan a QR code for virtual comments, or send an email to communications@charlottesville.gov.
Light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.
