Tajuan Rahmeen Allen Sentenced to 40 Years
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Today, in Charlottesville Circuit Court, Judge Claude V. Worrell sentenced Tajuan Rahmeen Allen to 40 years in prison for the November 5, 2020 second degree murder of Dreshawn McDonald that occurred on South 1st Street in the City of Charlottesville. The Court suspended 20 years of the sentence, leaving an active period of incarceration of 20 years. The 20 year suspended sentence was conditioned on five years of intensive supervised probation and 40 years of good behavior.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania stated, “Dreshawn’s father testified at the sentencing proceeding that he misses his son every day and another family member stated that things will never be the same again. This incident is yet another grim and sad reminder of the far reaching impacts of gun violence. ”
