Traffic Advisory: Utility Construction – 1st Street South

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – A portion of 1st Street South between Hartmans Mill Road and Lankford Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate necessary infrastructure work in conjunction with the adjacent 1st Street South community redevelopment.

This will be a 24/7 closure of the facility beginning July 28 and is expected to be in place through August 15 (weather permitting).

Expect a temporary road closure and detours to be in place during these times. Pedestrian access will be maintained with alternate routing. Motorists are advised to expect delays and avoid the area if possible. Please follow posted detours, respect on-site traffic control personnel, and exercise all due caution while in the vicinity.
