Nasier McGhee Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Today, in Charlottesville Circuit Court, Judge Claude V. Worrell sentenced Nasier McGhee to ten years in prison for the March 4, 2023 voluntary manslaughter of Justice Kigen Kilel at the Sunshine Minimart. None of the time imposed by the court was suspended.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania stated, “While Mr. McGhee was not the individual who ultimately possessed a firearm or fired the lethal shots, his participation in this violent attack warranted a conviction and a significant prison sentence that reflected the severity of the choices he made.”
