In response to an increase in ridership demand, additional service will be added to Charlottesville Area Transit's Route 9


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - In response to an increase in ridership demand, additional service will be added to Charlottesville Area Transit's Route 9, improving service to key destinations throughout the City of Charlottesville.

During peak hours, 8AM to 11AM and 2PM to 5PM, Route 9's frequency will improve from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Buses will depart from the Downtown Transit Station on the hour and on the 30-minute mark of the hour.

This improvement will provide better service to key destinations such as UVA Hospital, Charlottesville Health Department, YMCA, Charlottesville High School, and Downtown Charlottesville.

This service improvement is scheduled to take effect tomorrow, Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
