CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT), in partnership with the City of Charlottesville, invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of a new bus shelter at Midway Manor. The event will be held on Monday, July 29, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the CAT bus stop in front of the Midway Manor apartment building.

The new shelter represents a significant improvement for Midway Manor residents, many of whom rely on public transit for everyday travel. The ceremony will feature remarks from City Manager Sam Sanders, Mary Carey (longtime Midway Manor resident), and Garland Williams (CAT Director).

The celebration will include light refreshments, music, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and a CAT bus on-site for attendees to explore and get familiar with. Residents and community members are encouraged to attend and learn more about CAT’s services, including the Free Trolley route that directly serves the Midway Manor area.

This event highlights the City’s continued investment in public transportation and equitable mobility options for all residents. Join us to celebrate this milestone in community infrastructure and improved transit access.
