Charlottesville Area Transit will implement temporary detours for Routes 5, 7, and 11, affecting service to Fashion Square Mall and nearby stops due to the closure of the mall. Please review the following details and plan your trips accordingly.

Route 5
Removed Service Stops:
- Rio Road @ Glen Wood Station
- Hillsdale Drive @ Exeter Court
- Mall Drive @ Royal Court
- Fashion Square Mall
Operational Changes:
- Operator reliefs will be relocated to BRSC when possible.
- If relocation is not feasible, reliefs will occur along Fashion Square Drive to minimize impacts on other road users.
Route 7
Removed Service Stops:
- Mall Drive @ Hillsdale Drive
- Fashion Square Mall
Newly Served Existing Service Stops:
- Rio Road @ Glen Wood Station
- Hillsdale Drive @ Exeter Court
Operational Changes:
- Layover space will be identified, as the current schedule includes a 9-minute layover at Fashion Square Mall.
- The detour is not expected to increase travel times.
- Drivers will serve the last outbound stop on Mall Drive, layover along Fashion Square Drive, and begin inbound trips at Rio Rd & Hillsdale Drive.
Route 11
Removed Service Stops:
- Fashion Square Mall
- Mall Drive @ Hillsdale Drive
- Hillsdale Drive @ Exeter Court
Newly Served Existing Service Stops:
- Rio Road @ Glen Wood Station
Operational Changes:
- Outbound Route 11 trips will extend along Fashion Square Drive before starting inbound service on Rio Road.
- The detour routing is not expected to increase travel times.
