Due to the second wave of snow and overnight temperatures dropping below freezing, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) anticipates slick and potentially hazardous road conditions on Tuesday morning.
For the safety of both our staff and passengers, CAT services will operate on a two-hour delay, with service beginning at 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning.
This delay will allow additional time for road crews to treat and clear streets, as well as for daylight to assist with melting any refrozen ice. Safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate the public's understanding and patience as we work to ensure safe travel conditions for all.
CAT leadership will continue to stay in close contact with Public Works for updates on road conditions and will provide additional information if further adjustments to service are necessary.
Passengers are encouraged to check CAT’s official website at CatchTheCAT.org and follow our social media channels for real-time updates.
