The purpose of this solicitation is to secure a qualified natural gas contractor(s) for all labor, equipment and consumables associated with welding steel natural gas pipelines and pipeline facilities. The projected work will include but not be limited to; ¾”punch tee, 1”- 2” curb valve tees, 4”-8” bottom out fittings, 2”-12” main line relocations or repairs and any and all fabrication of 1”-4” above ground gas meter manifolds, bypasses and regulator stations.

The qualified contractor will have passed all applicable Operator Qualification exams through the Midwest Energy Association’s EnergyU program, as well as passed the City of Charlottesville Destructive Weld Test prior to welding on any pipeline or pipeline facility within the City of Charlottesville Gas System. The City of Charlottesville Destructive Weld Test will be done in accordance with all API 1104 standards. The destructive test will be performed under the supervision of a Charlottesville Gas Representative.
The selected contractor must also have a minimum of 5 years of applicable in service natural gas welding experience. All welding must be done in accordance with all state and local codes, City of Charlottesville Welding Procedure as well as 49 CFR Part 192 requirements
