CPD Makes Arrests in Relation to Cherry Ave Carjacking
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On August 14, 2024, at approximately 10:08PM, Charlottesville Police Officers were called to the area of 7 ½ St SW and Pine St for the report of a carjacking with a firearm involved.
As a result of that report, CPD detectives located the stolen vehicle, occupied by multiple persons, in the 600 block of Cherry Ave yesterday morning at approximately 10:38 a.m. As backup units responded to the area, the occupants fled the vehicle through the surrounding neighborhood. Responding officers located and detained 2 of the occupants. A replica firearm was also recovered as a result of the investigation.
One of the males detained is a juvenile resident of Charlottesville.
The other male is identified as Jeremiah Nayshaun Bowling, an 18-year-old resident of Chester, VA. Both individuals are currently in custody.
