CPD Investigates Reported Sex Offense
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Charlottesville Police Department is actively investigating a reported sex offense that occurred on May 25, 2024 at approximately 4:39 p.m. at 151 McIntire Park Drive.
On May 25, 2024 at approximately 4:39 p.m., Charlottesville police officers responded to a reported sex offense at 151 McIntire Park Drive. Responding officers were advised that an adult male approached and had inappropriate contact with a 10 year old child near the baseball field at McIntire Park. The suspect was identified as 27 year old Albemarle County resident Jason Park Miller. Responding officers gathered witness statements and detained Miller on scene. Detectives responded and investigated further. Miller was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with 18.2-370: Taking indecent liberties with children (Class 5 Felony) and 18.2-57: Assault and battery (Class 1 Misdemeanor). Miller is currently being held at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident and is with his family at this time. The Charlottesville Police would like to thank the reporting party and witnesses for their quick actions in reporting this incident, as well as their continued cooperation with this investigation.
