CPD Responds to Multiple Shootings This Week


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Over the past few days, Charlottesville has incurred two shootings, both of which are currently under investigation. The Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following cases.


On Monday, January 23, 2023, at approximately 10 p.m., Charlottesville police officers responded to a shots fired report in the area of 6th and Garrett Street. This incident resulted in the injury of one male juvenile; the victim has since been treated and released from UVA Medical Center.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at approximately 12:44 a.m., Charlottesville police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 400 block of Oakmont Street. This incident resulted in the injury of one, 30-year-old female who is in stable condition and currently receiving treatment at UVA Medical Center.
