CPD Arrests Albemarle County Man for Probation Violation
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On September 6, 2024 at approximately 10:18 a.m., District 9 Probation notified Charlottesville Police Department Detectives that a sex offender and gang member who is on supervised probation had just removed his ankle monitor.
Detectives were given the last known location and immediately responded to that area with District 9 officers. By 10:30 a.m., Joshua Pritchett, a 41-year-old resident of Albemarle County, was taken into custody in the area of his last known location by CPD detectives and officers.
The timely notification by District 9 Probation and the quick response by CPD resulted in Pritchett being taken into custody quickly and without incident. His damaged ankle monitor was also located in the area where he was found.
Pritchett is held at the Albemarle/Charlottesville Regional Jail and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
