Suspect Arrested in Preston Ave Shots Fired Incident

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – On May 27, 2023, CPD arrested and charged 21-year-old, Kyhiem Kier, in relation to the shots fired incident on Preston Ave on May 16, 2023.

Kier was charged in violation of Virginia Criminal Code, 18.2-308.2(A) Felon in Poss. of a Firearm. He is in custody at the Albemarle County Regional Jail; additional charges are pending. The police are still actively investigating and working to identify other involved parties. As a result of this investigation, two firearms have been recovered.
