To improve safety for people walking, biking and driving, the City’s Division of Engineering is implementing and improving its bicycle route system consistent with the City’s approved Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. In coordination with routine street maintenance (road resurfacing and restriping), and to enhance safety in the corridor, the City is evaluating a street restriping plan that would include bicycle lanes on Preston Ave (between 10th Street and Rugby Road). To accomplish this reconfiguration, on-street motor vehicle parking will be restricted on certain sections of Preston Avenue (between 10th Street and Madison Avenue and between Cabell Avenue and Rugby Road).
