To file a complaint or report an incident of police misconduct, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or letter to ATTN: Police CRB, P.O. Box 911, Charlottesville, VA 22902. In the email or letter, please provide identifying information for the person filing the complaint; a statement describing the reasons for the complaint; the specific police behavior of concern; a description of the incident in which the behavior occurred; and a list of the names, addresses and phone numbers of all witnesses to or persons with knowledge of the incident known. Additionally, the names and badge numbers (if known) of the officers involved.
We will communicate all complaints to the Charlottesville Police Department, but we will keep your name anonymous if you do not wish for us to provide your name. If you need help filing the complaint, please let us know and we will assist.
