Quad County Business Summit Recap

The Charlottesville Office of Economic Development attended the seventh annual Quad County Business Summit. The summit was organized by Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange, and the Central Virginia Small Business Center. Keynote speaker Kelli Palmer, Chief Diversity Officer of WillowTree presented an engaging discussion on organizational management tools entrepreneurs can utilize in their daily routines. Lastly, we would like to congratulate Southern Revere for winning the QuadTank pitch grand prize. 

ACIC Celebrates 10 Years of Service to the Community

Join the Community Investment Collaborative in celebrating their ten-year anniversary on Saturday November 5th. CIC will have food, music, vendors, and workshop reunions at the Ix Art Park from 5:00 – 8:00PM. You won’t want to miss celebrating the work CIC and staff have contributed to the Greater Charlottesville region. For more information click here. 

OED Fun Fact

The Virginia Film Festival will take place November 2-6, this year. The Virginia Film Festival was created in 1988 and was originally called the Virginia Festival of American Film.  The 35th annual event is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees and will feature 100+ films in 5 days including premieres, special guests, panel discussions, parties and more.  

North American Sake Brewery Joins Charlottesville Ale Trail

Local brewery North American Sake recently became the newest member of the Charlottesville Ale Trail! Founded in 2018, North American Sake offers genuine Japanese sake in a variety of flavors. It is the only sake brewery in Virginia, and one of 36 sake breweries in the United States. The Charlottesville Ale Trail consists of craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries in and around Charlottesville, Virginia. Devils Backbone Looking to Open Charlottesville Location

Popular local brewery Devils Backbone plans to open a new location in the City of Charlottesville. The tap room will be located at 1000 West Main Street, which previously was home to two other breweries, first Hardywood and then Skipping Rock. No official announcement has been given for an opening date. We look forward to welcoming this new business to the city and the Charlottesville Ale Trail.

SWaMfest Returns to RVA

VASCUPP is hosting SWaMfest® from October 26-27, 2022 in Richmond, Virginia.
