Community Matters

Public comment is provided for up to 16 speakers at the beginning of the meeting (limit 3 minutes per speaker.) Pre-registration is available for up to 8 spaces, and pre-registered speakers are announced by noon the day of the meeting. The number of speakers is unlimited at the end of the meeting.

Charlottesville City Council will take action on:


Amending the FY2020-2021 Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Program Minor Action Plan Budget (1st of 2 readings)

           a. Amendment to Community Development Block Grant account $85,843.66

            b. Amendment to HOME Investment Partnership Program $21,384.80

Approving a refund to a nonprofit entity for Business License Taxes paid 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 - $63,009.25 (1 reading)

Approving a Special Use Permit at 1206 Carlton Avenue, per recommendation of the Planning Commission (2nd reading)

Requesting the City Manager to develop a Collective Bargaining Ordinance for the City of Charlottesville (1 reading)

Closing, vacating and discontinuing certain utility easements within the public rights of way for the following public streets located in Albemarle County, Virginia (1 reading, waiving second reading)

a. Varick Street and Marin Court within the Dunlora Park Subdivision

          b. Archer Avenue and Stella Lane within the Brookhill Subdivision

           c. Glenleigh Road within the Highland Park Subdivision

Amending and re-enacting the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, in order to remove masculine and/or feminine language and to substitute gender-neutral pronouns (1st of 2 readings)    

Approving a rezoning application at 1206 Carlton Avenue, per recommendation of the Planning Commission (2nd reading)
