9 members (3 City appointees, 3 Albemarle County appointees, l each from Louisa, Nelson & Greene Counties)
Term
4 years (2 term limit)
Purpose
Determines all library policies and secures funds for carrying out policies and hires library director to administer library system. Keeps itself familiar with State and Federal standards and aid programs, studies needs and problems of library service and supports library legislation.
